The Criminal N.S.A., by JENNIFER STISA GRANICK and CHRISTOPHER JON SPRIGMAN [This NYT OP-ED establishes that the U.S. government's spying on Americans is illegal by any reasonable interpretation of U.S. law, not to mention the Constitution. This alone demonstrates that the U.S. government does not operate under the rule of law; this in turn shows that the rulers of the United States exercise a dictatorship over the American people. The plutocracy (a particular kind of dictatorship) that rules the United States is still a dictatorship when it obeys laws that it makes for its own benefit (by using its wealth to ensure that Congress represents the plutocracy instead of the American people) but now we know that the plutocracy does not even obey these laws when it doesn't suit them.]
